Candy & Cakes

Wayne Thiebaud is todays Google Doodle :)
I love the use of shapes and pattern in his work and the playful 'All-Americaness' of the food chosen, quite topical at the moment with every magazine seeming to jump on the 'Mad Men' bandwagon at the moment (better late than never!)
Well anyway here are some of his delicious paintings for your viewing pleasure:

Wax On

If you ever happen to be in Great Yarmouth, you have to spend £5 and go to visit the 'House of Wax' without a doubt one of the most memorable tourist attractions ever, all the wax works look ancient and are kept in a dusty old house plonked between the shops.
After you've seen and relived the 80's in horrific waxy glory the basement is without any warning filled with waxes of murderers and old arcade machines (which id love to steal and put in my already cluttered house), these photos speak for themselves!

Jelly-Jelly

Ohhh my I have been neglecting my blog, caravanning and holidays (family-suffering) are to blame!
Also to blame is having lots of annoying niggly things to do at work (work at work? honestly!)
I have too many blog entries to post, but seeing as im at my work computer I have no nice pictures to accompany them so they have to wait until my hangover Sunday to appear.
In the meantime Im incredibly jealous of everyone who is exhibting at/visiting the Vintage at Goodwood festival this weekend. Next year Im determined to take myself (not alone I hope!) and the stall too cause it looks great fun and completely different!

Daniel Clowes

GHOST WORLD.
Thank You Daniel Clowes for Ghost World, I never get bored of re-reading it over and over and also (surprisingly) watching the film. (Thora Birch, Scarlett Johansson and Steve Buscemi are great)
I really want the hard to find Enid doll but it seems only weird American websites have it 'in stock'

Im not very original but Enid is my favourite character, in the way she seems like she's always trying to find out who she is makes her likeable and easy to relate to, even though she is not always a 'nice' character to others.

People have been making replica Enid T-Shirts like this on Etsy, its on my WANT list!

Rob Ryan

Little needs to be said about Rob Ryan's amazing Paper Cut/Screenprinted Illustrations, I love the attention to detail and the little stories within them, also the strong use of birds in his designs appeals to the bird lover in me :)

I would kill for one of his beautiful collab with Tatty Devine necklaces:

Bankrupt

I was doing badly with money this month anyway due to saving for the dream of a holiday, and now I made the foolish mistake of clicking the link in the ASOS sale email and have a full basket. Now is the agonising task of sifting through my basket and finding things I dont really need (i.e the whole basket)
these are too 'spensive for me at the moment but ohhh boy do I want em, the plastic part would probably cut into/cause excessive feet sweating but I still waaaannt them:

Now Im going to spend the rest of my lunch hour deliberating instead of eating so my lunch intake will consist of Diet Coke, Sesame Snaps and a Pink Lady apple NOICE.
